The Right

Tools for the Job

In the United States, 1 in 10 adults* has chronic kidney disease (CKD)** and millions of others are at risk due to diabetes and hypertension. In fact, diabetes and hypertension are the primary causes for 7 of 10 new cases of end stage renal disease (ESRD), or kidney failure. African Americans are 3.5 times more likely to develop kidney failure than whites and Hispanics have 1.5 times the rate of kidney failure than that of non-Hispanic whites.*** The key to increasing survival rates is to educate the at-risk population about the often silent disease and how to prevent its progression.
