Types of dialysis offered

In-Center Hemodialysis

We are the largest independent provider of dialysis services in the U.S. While our size is impressive, it isn’t what matters most to us, we prefer to focus on our commitment to high quality care—a commitment that consistently delivers clinical outcomes that rank above the national averages.

Whether you’re a physician making a recommendation to a patient or a hospital looking to partner with DaVita to provide outpatient services—we invite you to take a closer look at DaVita.

Learn about our other dialysis treatment options

  • Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Hemodialysis »
    Peritoneal dialysis
uses the thin membrane, called the peritoneum, which lines the abdomen to perform dialysis treatments. A cleansing fluid is put into the patient's abdomen through a small, flexible tube called a PD catheter.
Home hemodialysis uses a dialysis machine to clean the blood. The patient's blood flows from his or her vascular access through a dialysis machine to be cleansed of extra waste and fluids and sent back into the body.

  • Nocturnal Dialysis »
In-center nocturnal dialysis turns nonproductive sleep time into hemodialysis treatment time. Patients receive hemodialysis in their dialysis center overnight for 6 to 8 hours while they sleep.
