Hi. My dad has diabetes and only 8% kidney function. There is only one centre for HD in Fiji, which is in Suva, around 250 km from our house. It is a private clinic and he has been told to seek a closer accommodation. There isn't any info or provision of Peritoneal Dialysis in Hospitals throughout Fiji. Is there any way we could use PD in Fiji. I just want to know the cost and the requirements for home use.

Hi Ash,
In the years back I met a man from Fiji who was having dialysis at my clinic. he told me he came temporary to train for home dialysis. I think you need to find a Nephrologist in Fiji whom can collaborate with a non-profit dialysis clinic in the United States. try researching well on dialysis resources Fiji first.. did you already see this? New Dialysis Centre in Fiji to Save Lives ![]() Ask them whether they would collaborate with a non-profit clinic in USA then come to USA with VISA temp for training for PD.. Quote:
