About

In observance of National Nutrition Month, the DaVita® dietitian team has compiled a patient education calendar of daily diet tips. These tips are displayed in DaVita dialysis centers across the nation to help patients follow their dialysis diet and enjoy a healthier life. The DaVita dietitian team has requested that this calendar also be available to visitors at DaVita.com to help reach as many people as possible.

The DaVita dietitian team

DaVita employs more than 1,000 registered renal dietitians. DaVita registered renal dietitians educate and coach dialysis patients about the dialysis diet. The dialysis diet restricts foods that are high in phosphorus, potassium and sodium, in addition to restricting  fluid. Because of the many restrictions, the dialysis diet it is one of the most difficult to follow. Therefore, renal dietitians provide their patients with meal plans, review their monthly lab results to make diet adjustments as well as motivate their patients to keep them on track.
