Donavon — In-center nocturnal patient

Texas — There’s no stopping Donavon. Not only does the 37-year-old Missouri, Texas resident teach high school English, but he also coaches football, wrestling and track, as well as officiates as a high school and college baseball umpire.

Given his on-the-go schedule, trying to fit in conventional dialysis was a challenge to say the least. That’s why he looked into the DaVita nocturnal program. When he took a tour of the dialysis center, he was instantly hooked.

“It’s very convenient and comfortable,” he said. “When I have to travel and have to do conventional hemodialysis, I don’t enjoy it as much.”

Donavon has been on hemodialysis since April 2007 and has been taking advantage of DaVita’s in-center nocturnal dialysis program since July 2007.

“The nocturnal dialysis program allows me work and go to my practices and games. On nights that I do dialysis, I go in around 11:00 p.m., leave the center around 6:00 a.m., go to work and then coach. Thanks to DaVita’s nocturnal dialysis program, I have the extra energy to keep up with a hectic schedule and extremely active athletes,” shares Donavon.
