Made these for patients the month before the superbowl, mostly a big hit but most patients don't want to go through the trouble of baking, they enjoyed it a lot though, good flavor. And made the house smell delicious when cooking!

When you add the cereals/pretzels etc. to the sauce, do they get soggy? Dietitian comment: Not unless you use a margarine that contains added water[INVALID]usually found in some of the reduced-fat products. The oil from the margarine coats the cereals and pretzels but will not saturate them. The baking will make the cereal and pretzels even more crisp.

I have tried looking for unsalted margarine and have been unsuccessful. Which is a better substitute, New Balance or unsalted butter? Love your website!! Dietitian comment: Smart Balance buttery spread adds 22 mg sodium per serving[INVALID]still acceptable. If you use unsalted butter it adds 8 mg cholesterol per serving and the sodium remains the same.

I couldn't find Kellogg's Crippex Cereal so I substituted Wild Riceworks gourmet wildrice crisps bag 5.5 oz. They only have 85mg. sodium. Don't know Phosphorus or potassium. I'll email the company and see. Anyway, it was delicious!!! Thank you DaVita.

Can unsalted butter be substituted for the margarine? If not, I suggest warning readers about the trans fat content.

I recently made this for a snack during an edcuational event at our clinic. Everyone loved it. Such a great snack idea, with limited sodium, potassiun and phosphorus. It definitely doesn't taste "diet"!

My husband really liked these. It is so hard to find low sodium chips so these were a great treat for him.
