High Protein Root Beer Float

DaVita renal dietitian Joyce from Texas shares her recipe for kidney-friendly High Protein Root Beer Float for dialysis patients. Now you can get extra protein in a delightfully fun way!

Portions: 1     Serving size: approximately 1 cup


  • 1/2 cup Cool Whip® dessert topping
  • 1 scoop whey protein powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup root beer


  1. Mix 1/2 cup Cool Whip, protein powder and vanilla extract. Freeze mixture until firm.
  2. Divide frozen Cool Whip mixture into 2 scoops and place in an 8 ounce glass. Pour 4 ounces chilled root beer over scoops of Cool Whip mixture.
  3. Serve and enjoy!
