Hot Apple Cider

Want to cozy up to something warm and spicy? A kidney-friendly recipe for Hot Apple Cider might do the trick. Susan from Kentucky brings you a drink that is low in sugar but big on taste. Get ready to induldge in this cold weather concoction.

Portions: 16     Serving size: 4 ounces (1/2 cup)


  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 4 cups low-sugar cranberry juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cinnamon-flavored tea bag


  1. Combine all ingredients in a Crock-Pot®.
  2. Let steep for an hour or longer. Remove tea bag.
  3. Serve hot cider in a small mug.
