Hot Holiday Cider (low sugar)

This kidney-friendly recipe for Hot Holiday Cider warms your taste buds and provides a delectable aroma to fill your home with the holiday spirit. Treat yourself, your family and your guests to a flavorful sip of Hot Holiday Cider this winter season.

Portions: 14     Serving size: 4 fluid ounces (1/2 cup)


  • 8 cups unsweetened apple cider
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice


  1. Pour cider into a Crock-Pot® and add cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
  2. Heat and let steep for one hour to blend the flavors.

I prepared this for a pre-Thanksgiving patient party and it got mixed reviews. Most are used to something sweeter. Plus, I couldn't find unsweetened cider, so used unsweetened apple juice.
