irsatt, have you tried making your own rice milk? Check on line and you can find the recipe for making it. I make it all the time and use it in different things that call for milk. I can't have any milk products or calcium. I haven't tried the Super Simple Baked Pancake yet but looks delicious and easy to make.

I have looked for un-enriched Rice milk and can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions? Dietitian comment: Look for the shelf-stable Rice Dream Classic original rice drink. It may not be available in the refrigerated dairy section.

please can you explain to what do mean by 1/2 meat 2 starch 1 fat do i have to eat them extra with breakfast? Dietitian comment: This is a meal planning system that identifies food groups for foods rather than counting the calories, protein and minerals. The dietitian can provide a meal plan to the patient with a guide for how many servings from each food group to eat at each meal and totals for the day. When using recipes the patient can count Food Choices instead of adding up numbers for protein grams and minerals of concern.

I was told by the dr that I should not have high protein or high potsddium foods This has both .What can replace it without making it tast bad ? Dietititan comment: You could choose from one of the other pancake recipes in the Breakfast & Brunch category that has a lower protein content. Low sodium, low potassium diets (generally 1500-2000 mg/day) allow 400-600 mg per meal and for low phosphorus (generally 800-1000 mg/day) 300-350 mg/meal for these minerals. Keep these numbers in mind when using our kidney friendly recipes to plan your meal.

OMG!Just tried this recipe & it is so Good & EASY to prepare, I highly recommend it to anyone, I substitued cinnamon for the nutmeg, I didn't have vanilla extract or I would have added that, try different combinations I hear sauted apples slices are good as well.

You should include phosphorus in your recipes and this one doesn't even give Potassium. Should substitute creamer for milk. Moderator response: Maybe you missed the nutrient box. Potassium is 157 mg and phosphorus is 135 mg for 1/4th recipe (made with milk). Both of these minerals will be slightly lower with milk substitute.

thank you for this recipe I was feeling so low thinking whtat can I make for a brunch , I will sub the milk with non-dairy creamer, leave out the salt and add an extra egg white and WoW this sounds wonderful and I will add the saute an apple with cinnamon to carmalize as suggested by another then top with nondairy whipped cream and a cherry Wala!!I will have the ladies over to join me!!!I thank you all!GBU

I made this pancake for breakfast today,felt like I was be really pampered. Used small skillet(probably 8 in.) Did not put batter together till the oil was heated. Mixed batter than poured into pan without taking from oven. Looked, Tasted wonderful.

Easy and very good recipe for this German pancake. If you are in a hurry you can also do this on the stove top with an 8-10 inch omlette pan. The batter also keeps well for a few days. I leave out the salt and use non-dairy creamer.

I followed Randolph's advice and added the caramelized cinnamon apples, which really added to the flavor (and nutrition). Next time, I'll cut down on the salt, or leave it out altogether; I don't think that would make much difference. Thanks for the recipe, Peggy!

This is one of my favorite breakfasts - to accompany it, I slice up an apple in a small skillet, sprinkle with cinnamon, and simmer, the juices tend to carmalize the apple and when the pancake is ready, I put the apples on it. A wonderful meal - thanks for the recipe.
