Pineapple Bars

Did you know that the pineapple is one of the world’s favorite tropical fruits, second only to the banana? Crunchy, sweet and full of fiber, every pineapple has vitamins, minerals and enzymes that make it easy on the digestive system. With all this going for it, no wonder DaVita dietitian Jennifer from Illinois dreamed up a dessert featuring this wonder-fruit, and called it Pineapple Bars, a kidney-friendly treat for all.

Pineapple Bars

I have a question about this recipe. Is the crisco shortening added melted or solid? Thanks Moderator response: Add solid shortening to the flour and blend with a fork until crumbly, then add the milk.
