Ilene has lived in Maryland for the past 13 years. “My next, and likely last, stop will be in Israel where I will be relocating this summer,” she shared.
Ilene has been with DaVita for over three years. “The location is convenient to doctors' offices and the clinic is bright and clean,” said Ilene.
When asked how she approaches her job as a dietitian, she said, “I help form a partnership with my patients and work with them to help find the best solution to the obstacle ahead. No two people are the same, so rarely is there one best solution for a problem.” Ilene continued, “The most challenging aspect of my job is helping my patients understand and believe that the more they know about their disease and circumstances, the more power they have to make positive changes. Knowledge helps them live a healthier and happier life.”
She feels the most rewarding aspect of her work as a dietitian is, “Rejoicing with a patient who has reached a goal of obtaining better lab results and feeling better physically as a result of it.”
“I love my patients and teammates. They make coming to work a pleasant experience,” Ilene said, adding, “The cohesiveness between the patients and teammates is really special. I have even learned some Russian and Hindi while on the job to help communicate with patients with different languages,” she said.
Ilene invites you to try her recipe for Zingy Spiced Pears. It’s a perfect fall dessert featuring some wonderful spices.
