Apple Spice Pork Chops

Serving size: one pork chop, apples and sauce
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops (1 pound package)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups of tart apples, peeled, cored, sliced
Preparation
- Preheat oven to broil.
- Broil pork chops in the oven, 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
- While pork chops are cooking, melt butter in skillet and stir in brown sugar, salt, pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon and apples.
- Cover and cook until apples are tender and sauce begins to thicken.
- Spoon sauce over cooked chops and serve.

Helpful Hints
- Marinate pork chops in apple juice, chopped garlic, and pepper for extra flavor.
- An alternative to broiling the pork chops would be to brush chops with oil and cook 5 minutes per side on a hot skillet.
