Sesame Vermicelli

Sesame Vermicelli is a kidney-friendly recipe infused with the taste of lemon,honey and a touch of sesame oil that turns this dish into poetry on your plate.

Portions: 8     Serving size: 1/2 cup


    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons honey
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 garlic clove, chopped
    • 1/2 cup scallions
    • 1/2 cup green peas
    • 3 cups vermicelli, cooked


  1. Mix together sesame oil, lemon juice and honey. Set aside.
  2. Chop garlic; chop scallions and seperate bulbs and green tops.
  3. Sauté garlic and scallion bulbs in vegetable oil until slightly browned.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together peas, raw scallion green tops and vermicelli. Add sautéed scallion bulbs and sesame oil mixture.
  5. Toss ingredients and serve.

Helpful hints

  • Vermicelli is a pasta thinner than spaghetti. Two ounces uncooked yields 1 cup cooked.
