Sweet and Sour Cucumbers

Slice cucumbers and onions about 1/8-inch thick. Place in a large bowl.
Combine sugar and vinegar. Mix until sugar is dissolved completely. Add additional sugar or vinegar to desired taste.
Pour over cucumbers and onion. Add salt and pepper.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap and set in refrigerator at least 2 hours.
Serve in small salad bowls as a salad or snack.
