Herb Sauce Mix

Diet - CKD, Dialysis, Diabetes

Portion:  3 tablespoons

Serving size:   1 tablespoon of this mixture works for 1 recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container.

Helpful hints

  • To prepare sauce for 2 portions of meat, melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and add 3 teaspoons of herb sauce mix.
  • Use as a sauce topping on chicken, fish or pork. Pour over meat and bake in the oven or on the grill.
  • Sodium per portion is 251 mg when served with 2 portions of meat.

I liked this sauce. I left out the celery salt and used unsalted butter to cut the sodium count. Still tasted great!
