Spicy BBQ Sauce

Serving size: 2 tablespoons

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose white flour
  • 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup tarragon vinegar
  • 1/4 cup onion 
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco® sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet® seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

    1. Stir oil and flour together to make a paste.
    2. Chop onion.
    3. Add all remaining ingredients.
    4. Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens.
    5. Brush sauce on baked or grilled meat.

Can't something else be used instead of Corn Syrup. I am so against corn syrup. It is one of the factors that help cause diabetes. Moderator comment: Yes you could substitute any sweetener of choice.
