wow...I must have missed this recipe somehow! I've been CRAVING this and figuring I SHOULD be able to make it Kidney Safe...just haven't tackled it...BUT...I'm CKD..any SUGGESTIONS on how to make this CKD??? Well, besides just Reducing the portion? Maybe Cut back on Protein...maybe 3/4 lb. of shrimp and 5 ounce of Crab? It's the Phosphorus Number that concerns me the MOST...what's causing it to be so HIGH? Everything else, Potassium, sodium, I can adjust...is it the WHOLE cup of RICE thats driving the Phos. number that high? Thanks for your ...! Dietitian comment: the 3 major phosphorus sources and shrimp, rice, then crab. If you decrease the amount of any of these ingredients it will decrease phosphorus and protein content. 3/4 pound shrimp, 5 oz crab and 4-1/2 cups rice brings protein to 21 grams and posphorus 258 mg.
