Eating cranberry sauce during the holidays has become a tradition for many American families and is also a delicious food when you're on the kidney diet. However, do you know the many health benefits of cranberries? Cranberries are used for the prevention and treatment of urinary tract infections; they are a good source of vitamin C, which helps fight scurvy; and one cup of fresh cranberries contains only 50 calories and 80 mg of potassium. A third of a cup of dried, sweetened cranberries contains 123 calories and 16 mg of potassium. Be merry and enjoy some cranberries!
