Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
- 1/4 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
Preparation
- In a small bowl mix all spices together.
- Place in a covered jar or container until ready to use.
- Use as a dry rub or wet marinade for meat, poultry or fish, or add to vegetables, stews or other dishes.
Helpful hints
- Adobo is used to prepare many foods in Latin culture.
- Commercially prepared Adobo seasoning may contain over 300 mg sodium per serving.
- Ground annatto (achiote) may be substituted for turmeric if available.
- Adobo seasonings are varied and can be modified. Some recipes include cumin, coriander or annatto.
