- CKD non-dialysis
- Lower Protein
1 cup dry unseasoned bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon dried celery leaves
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Blend ingredients in a food processor or a blender. Store until ready to use.
When ready to use, dip fresh meat into margarine or oil, then coat with coating mix, one piece at a time.
Bake meat in the oven or fry in a skillet.
- Make homemade dry breadcrumbs by toasting bread in the oven until dry and crisp. Process in a food processor or blender to make crumbs.
This mix keeps well in the freezer. Make extra for later use.
Try the following variations for additional flavors:
Beef or veal: add 1/2 teaspoon marjoram or oregano
Chicken: add 1/2 teaspoon thyme and ½ teaspoon sage
Pork: add 1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon or 1/4 teaspoon allspice.
