Green Beans with Turnips

Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 2 medium turnips
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Preparation
- Remove ends from the green beans and cut into 1-1/2" pieces. Peel turnips and dice each one into 8 pieces. Mince the garlic cloves.
- Place vegetables and garlic in a medium-size pot. Cover with 3 cups water and bring to a boil. Reduce to medium heat and cook uncovered for 15 minutes.
- Remove pot from heat and drain water. Add butter, pepper and salt. Gently toss to mix seasonings with vegetables. Serve hot.
- Remove to serving dish and sprinkle with paprika.
Helpful hints
- Add a dash of hot sauce if you like spicy vegetables.
