Helpful hints

  • Use regular broth powder or granules because the low sodium version is very high in potassium. Limit to 1 teaspoon to keep sodium per serving in an acceptable range.

Made this last night for dinner and it was excellent..my husband is a very picky eater and having a hard time adjusting to a kidney friendly diet but he really liked this recipe. Thank you DaVita for providing so many recipes to help make a new lifestyle easier!!

We have made this several times & absolutely love it! I also leave out the wine & salt, just adding a small amount of additional water. I also add a can of salt free sliced mushrooms & my husband & I love this addtion!

Very good. I only used one shallot, they were pretty big. Also left out the salt and used reduced-fat cream cheese. Will put this one in the rotation.

Love this recipe. I leave out the 1/8 tsp salt and don't miss it. I also leave out the wine and just add a little bit more water. One question... is the portion size correct? When I dish out 3/4 cup stroganoff and 1 cup noodles it seems like a lot! Moderator? Moderator comment: I agree it is a generous portion--but is is correct according to the recipe provided.

This stroganof is almost my favorite meal and my husband loves it too. I use ground sirloin and 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
