Helpful hints

  • For lower carbohydrate replace brown sugar with brown sugar substitute.
  • You can also make this recipe in a crock pot.
  • This is nice to fix a day ahead; when refrigerated, all the fat hardens and is easy to remove.
  • Divide extra meat into individual servings and freeze for a quick meal later.
  • For CKD non-dialysis adjust beef portion to match your meal plan if you are on a limited protein diet.

Sounds good, havent made it yet. Under helpful hints it says it's ok to be made in a long to put it in for??? Dietitian comment: Generally cook for 8-10 hours on low setting or 4-5 hours on low setting when using a slow cooker.

Do the statistics given for this recipe include the bun? It sounds very delicious and easy to prepare. Dietitian comment: Yes, the buns are included in the nutrient analysis.

This one didn't turn out so well for me. Next time I would make sure the roast is well thawed before putting it in the oven, as the sauce burnt before the roast was done. Even with all that, it still had a good flavor. I would definately try it again because it was easy to put together.
