Is the potassium level of 532mg considered high for hd patients? Dietitian comment: No it is reasonable for a main entrée. If your potassium limit is 2,000 mg/day and you divide into 3 meals you are aiming for around 650 mg/meal. If you are on a 3,000 mg potassium diet you are aiming for around 1,000 mg/meal.

I am confused. Your Flank steak vinaigret vegetable recipe has 575 mG potassium. How can it be good for Renal diet. Dietitian comment: A low potassium diet allows 2,000 - 3,000 mg potassium per day. Divide that by 3 meals to see the range of 650 to 1,000 mg potassium at each meal. Check with your doctor or dietitian to get your specific daily potassium goal.

how can a recipe with 532 mg of potassium be for kidney dialysis patients... Dietitian comment: A low potassium diet ranges from 2,000 to 3,000 mg/day. You can add some rice and low potassium beverage and still have a meal with 600-700 mg potassium.
