I’m thinking about making this recipe, what exactly does “orange drink” mean? Orange soda? Sunny D? Please advice. Thank You?? Dietitian comment: Yes you can use Sunny Delight or orange soda for the orange citrus flavor. If you are not on a potassium restriction use a cup of orange juice.

Awesome recipe! I'm in late stage kidney failure, I'm happy to have found some recipes that my husband loves. He hasn't stopped talking about the pulled pork. Great recipe and very easy to make. I cooked the liquid down to about half and then transferred to a crockpot for about four hours. I would highly recommend this recipe for anyone.

This recipe is best done in a slow cooker. Cooked on low for 8 hours and used whole 4 lb pork loin. When done blend sauce to purée onions and garlic for wonderful sauce. Blend together with shredded pork.

This recipet was absolutly yummy. The entire family decided to try it with the MaMa in stage 5 renal failure, and 2 teenagers loved it. The pork was so very moist, and the spices were on the mark. Thank you to the DaVita people for the use of these recipes. Especially to those who have submitted them.

I LOVE this recipe! I made it for my both family my patients and everyone raved about it! It does take some time to cut the meat all up beforehand, but I agree, it is definately worth it. I have also used a crock pot for the simmering portion of the recipe. After 3/4 of the liquid has cooked off, place it in the crock pot and let is slow cook, or warm until you are ready to eat.
