Could you please help me ? I see many smoothies i would love to try but most have egg whites and i gagg just at the thought of drinking raw egg, is there any thing i can do ? Thanks for the help. Dietitian comment: You could substitute whey protein powder instead of egg white. Note the pasteurized egg whites are safe to use in a smoothie or other recipes without cooking.

Can the dietitian please tell me: do the egg whites have this high level of potassium as shown in your Nutrients table? Also, I am about 15 pounds underweight and have difficulty eating. If I make a smoothie 8 oz egg whites, 1/4 cup greek yogurt (0%fat), 2 tblsp honey, 1/4 cup frozen wild blueberries, would that help me gain weight? Dietitian comment: Yes, one egg white from a large egg contains 53 mg potassium. One cup of liquid egg whites is equal to 8 egg whites. Weight gain is based on total daily calorie intake. I am a dietitian with Davita. I made this for my patients and it was ok. I wouldn't really call it a smoothie- more of a creamy milk type drink. I might add more cool whip or some vanilla protein powder next time.
