Can u use dry coffee creamer in the cocoa mix? Dietitian comment: We do not recommend it because of the phosphate additives in nondairy creamers.

Can you use vanilla Nepro instead of water? Plus you could use less sugar or no sugar. Dietitian comment: Yes but the nutrients will be different.

This was very bland with the water. Can you use rice or almond milk instead of water? Dietitian comment: Yes you can substitute. Be sure the rice or almond milk does not contain phosphate additives. If high calcium is a concern be aware some almond milks are very high in calcium.

I hate to buy whipped topping for a recipe I won't make very frequently. I always have rice milk at home. Can this be made with half cup of rice milk and half cup of water or with one cup of rice milk and only water to make paste with cocoa? Dietitian comment: Yes as long as the rice milk does not contain phosphate additives it is a kidney-friendly substitution. A spoonful or marshmallow cream or a large marshmallow is a nice substitute for whipped topping.

If I use Splenda instead of sugar what will the potassium, phosphorous and sodium be? Dietitian comment: No change as 2 teaspoons of both sugar and Splenda have zero sodium and phosphorus. Splenda has .04 mg potassium ans sugar has zero mg.

I found this just yesterday and I tried it this morning. It was really good, at least it hit my spot. LOL... I had been working on one myself for a little while, but think this is the one. I love the lower phosphates in this recipe. Thank you so much. :)
