Helpful hints

  • This recipe uses fruit cocktail canned in juice. For a higher calorie smoothie use fruit cocktail packed in light or heavy syrup. For lower calories use fruit canned in water or with artificial sweetener.
  • Refrigerate or freeze extra serving for later.
  • Ask your dietitian about the best whey protein to use. Products vary in calcium, potassium and phosphorus content.

This is awful. Don't know if it was my protein powder or if this is just not good, but I couldn't even force myself to drink it. I got two big gulps in before I just tossed it down the drain.

I made this as a sample for our patients in Kayenta, AZ. The response from teammates and patients has been positive. This is a good fruity treat.
