Helpful hints

  • Use the Easy Chorizo recipe on DaVita.com to make yo9ur own lower sodium chorizo.
  • Use 1/4-cup liquid low-cholesterol egg substitute instead of egg if desired.
  • Cook entire recipe at once, if desired, and freeze for later use. This is a quick and delicious way to increase protein intake at breakfast.

We have Garica Chorizo in casings will that be the same? Dietitian comment: No, the sodium content is much higher. Our homemade chorizo recipe is lower in sodium and fat.
