Helpful hints

  • After chicken is floured if you let it stand for 15 to 20 minutes the flour will adhere to chicken pieces better.
  • You can add thin-cut low-potassium vegetables to the oil in the beginning as desired.  Try shredded carrots or julienne zucchini.
  • Refrigerate or freeze individual portions of leftover chicken and reheat for a quick meal later.
  • Mrs. Dash® seasoning blends are available in a variety of flavors and are very low sodium, potassium and phosphorus.

I only rated this one star because I haven't tried the recipe yet and just wanted to ask a question about it. I had to rate it just to comment. The recipe reads delicious though. I'm new at this but one chicken thigh? I'd be starved after eating one serving? Couldn't I have two chicken thighs with some rice and vegies and if so, how much white rice made with cauliflower, garlic cloves, peas, chicken broth and zuchinni? I found Swanson NO SALT chicken broth at Grocery Outlet and would use that. Zero sodium. Would add Mrs. Dash to the dish too with a dash of cayenne pepper. How much of that could I eat too. What would a serving be? Could I have the meal for lunch and then dinner too if restricted to that one serving of one thigh? (Yikes!) Dietitian comment: One portion has 17 grams of protein. If you are on a high protein diet you can definitely increase to 2 pieces, plus the rice and veggies mentioned above. Try using the My Creations feature in DaVita Diet Helper on your computer to add your version of the recipe plus side items to view the nutrients.

Ive been looking at some recipes that contain white wine, howeber my grandmother is really sick and i dont feel comfortable making food for her that may contain alcohol. Dietitian comment: You can substitute 1/2 cup white grape juice instead of the wine. The dish will be a little sweeter but this is a great substitution for those avoiding alcohol.

Excellent! Easy and fun to make. Will definitely be making this again and again. I used boneless chicken thighs, just because I already had them in my freezer.

looking forward into trying. Do you have any recipe for pulled pork slow cooker. The Pulled Pork recipe we have does not call for a slow cooker but you can use one. Or you could use the Pulled Chicken recipe prepared in a slow cooker and substitute the pork for chicken.

I'M not familiar with Mrs Dash seasoning in AUSTRALIA. sOUNDS INTERESTING WILL TRY NEXT TIME I GET CHICKEN. SKIN ON OR OFF? Dietitian comment: Mrs. Dash is a salt-free herb ans spice seasoning. It comes in many different flavor combinations. We left the skin on the chicken in this dish, but it would work without the skin if you prefer.

Have not tried it yet. What will be the changes if I use breast meat instead. Dietitian comment: The fat content is lower. Ounce for ounce the other nutrients are about the same.

Tastes great, very flavorful! I used oregano, basil, and a little bit of ginger as the spice mix for the flour dredge.

i added some paprika and garlic powder to the flour before dredging chicken thighs...my husband who is not a chicken lover enjoyed this dish very much. Also, after browning; I put the covered casserole in a 350 oven for 30 minutes or until chicken was cooked. Served with potatoes that had been soaked and then roasted in oven with carrots and onions

Absolutely loved this recipe. Substituted flour with panko bread crumbs though. It was even better the next day. Goes well with the Savory Green Bean recipe.

I tried this recipe and love it oh my mother liked it also. The only thing I will do next time is not to use flour, when you add wine it gets soggy, nice flavor and sauce.

do you buy 8 chicken thighs for this recipe? Don't hate it as I haven't made it yet...Moderator reply: Yes, the 8 chicken thighs have been added to the recipe. Thanks!

How much chicken, 8 pieces? Can boneless be used? Moderator: I have corrected the recipe to include 8 chicken thighs, bone-in, with skin. You could use boneless thighs but it will not be as tasty.
