Nondairy Ice Crème Sandwiches

Can we use Cool Whip nondairy topping instead? Dietitian comment: Unfortunately Cool Whip now contains phosphate additives. There is a similar frozen product called Tru-Whip that could be substituted.

I cannot wait to try this but I want to use a spoon-able whipped cream like Cool Whip to make measuring easier. How will that impact the recipe? I'm new to DaVita and I love it. You make living with CKD a lot easier. Dietitian comment: We removed the Cool Whip because it now has phosphate additives. There is a new similar frozen product called Tru-Whip. It's fairly new so you may need to request your grocer to stock it. There are no phosphate additives.

IS that 2 T whip topping per 2 squares or is the 2T of whip topping for the whole recipe ? This sure does sound good but i want to do it right. Thank yall for such wonderful recipes, it makes this battle a little easier, can't hardly wait to make these...Once again Thank You. Dietitian comment: That's 2 tablespoons per 2 squares. You will need 20 tablespoons for the recipe. Glad you are enjoying the recipes!

Very easy and tasty. Used regular (not chocolate) graham crackers even though it is less like regular ice cream sandwiches.

I froze these, and enjoyed one at a time - I love ice cream sandwiches, and this made up for the lack of them. Great recipe and quick as well. Thank you.

These are fast and easy! I served them once to a meeting for family caregivers at my clinic. They loved this idea and several told me they would make them at home. I am also planning to make these again this summer for one of of celebration days here at my clinic.
