As seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong, will tell you, a good team is essential to winning; no one can do it alone. This is especially true for the teams at DaVita. “It’s so important for me establish a good rapport with my patients and let them know that they are an integral part of the team that will keep them healthy,” explains Bev.
During her seven years as DaVita dietitian, Bev has drawn on her undergraduate degree from Cornell and her master’s from Johns Hopkins to provide her patients with top notch nutritional advice. But good nutrition is only one part her team’s winning strategy. Bev has also witnessed the powerful impact of a positive attitude. "I’ve been so inspired by patients who maintain a good outlook and a good quality of life despite their challenges.” Bev adds, “It’s the most rewarding part of my job.”
In addition to her work at the DaVita Dialysis Center in Maryland, Bev has published several journal and Internet articles on the topic of Herbal Medicine use in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. She has also spoken on this topic at various professional meetings.
