I have made Mexican rice for years. You need to add 1-2 tsps. Chile powder, 1-2 tsps. Cumin, 1 tsps. Mexican oragano, and some diced multi colored peppers( about 1-1 1/2 cups). You will change your opinion.

Added 1/4 c. Picante sauce instead of tomato sauce, and fresh ground black pepper, much better than last. My husband even liked it, and he's picky!

I just made this and was very disappointed. Seriously lacked flavor. Needs some spices to boost it up. Sorry

Not much flavor to this recipe. I won't make it again.

I would recommend using only 2 cups of water. This was much too watery & took a long time to cook out. Then you would be able to taste the other ingredients.

I was disappointed in this recipe -appeared to be bland, no spicy Mexican content - I don't think I'll be remaking this one. Sorry.
