They do not mention which non-dairy creamer, I have been unable to find it without dipotassium phosphate additive, wouldn't that increase the phosphorus count? Dietitian comment: Most of them now have the phosphate additives. You can substitute unsweetened plain almond milk instead of NDC.

Sounds very good but I cannot find unsalted margarine. What company makes it? Can I use unsalted butter instead? Dietitian comment: Margarine is not as popular these days. Yes, use the unsalted butter instead.

Could I use rice milk in this recipe? Dietitian comment: It will work but will lack the creaminess due to much lower fat content. You could add butter or oil to increase the creaminess.

I made this gravy this morning. I used Silk non-dairy creamer, vanilla flavor. That was all I had on hand. Won't do that again. It would need a lot of cayenne pepper to cover up the vanilla taste. I will make sure that I have unflavored dairy creamer next time, otherwise good taste and simple tomake.

this gravy was absolutely delicious - it went VERY nicely with 'almost mashed potatoes' (cauliflower).

this was super tasting, and very good with 'cauliflower mashed potatoes'; we're just getting into these recipes for husband about a year from dialysis.

Wasn't sure what to expect. I cook for a family member and have been learning a lot lately. The Almost Mashed Potatoes in the Vegetable area have been very well received. I like them too...even w/o adding salt (I don't have CRF). So 'We' (me) did Country Gravy and I'm surprised how good it is. Non-Diary creamer...who'd a thunk it? The Gravy gets it's flavor from the nicely seasoned ground pork. I expect I'll be requested to make this again as well. I tripled this recipe and doubled the fake spuds...allowing many portions to be frozen for later.

I made this along with the country soda biscuits. I thought they were very good. Biscuits and sausage gravy are back on my list of foods.
