Helpful hints

  • Recipe analysis includes regular canned corn and unsalted chicken broth. Unsalted canned corn will reduce sodium to 101 mg per serving.
  • Enjoy a 2 cup serving as a main entrée or reduce to 1 cup of soup as an appetizer or snack.
  • A 2 cup portion provides 1 cup of liquid and 1 cup of solids.
  • If you are on a lower protein diet use only half the chicken meat which is approximately 2 cups.

Chicken Corn Soup

This 12 servings with a giant amount of chicken. Can't Davita have a section for seniors? Even if I cut recipies in half it is too much food for single and senior. I can get this and meatloaf recipe in my Better Crocker Cookbook

Chicken Corn Soup
Jujubee58 says:

It wasn't bad! I added some tabasco sauce and I cooked four chicken thighs and four chicken breast, both skinless and boneless in a crock pot in reduced sodium chicken broth. My nephew said it reminded him of a Thai soup after he added a little salt. Since my CKD is related to my HBP, I avoid adding salt to my food as much as possible.

I think this would be good , but could you use cream corn instead of hole corn ? Moderator comment: Yes but reduce the corn to 1-1/2 cups to keep the nutrients the same.
