Tuna Salad Bagel
caffish55 says:

I'm going to make this without bagels, do not like bagels & have no low-fat mayo. because the store brand bought is less in sodium & that is what I have on hand. I love onions, celery & could not find low-sodium tuna, but it is water packed & will drain it & rinse it also. My question is: I thought you were supposed to add hard boiled eggs too, is that possible, to have more protein? Dietitian comment: Yes you can add either egg whites or the whole hard-boiled egg to increase protein. Each egg contains 7 grams of protein.

I made tuna salad with cut up apples. I just added mayo and apples. It was very good. I omitted celery, onions, bagels. Can't stand bagels. Also I put the tuna salad on wheat bread. Yup, that is a keeper. My mom liked the taste.

I used chicken of the sea albacore tuna which had half the potassium of the other brands. My mom loves tuna so I knew this would be a recipe we'd be making again and again.

I'm always cutting corners where I can on potassium and sodium. We found "Western Bagel" brand bagels at Wal-Mart in the dairy section that are actually portion controlled and healthier than all others I've searched for. That mixed with "Bumble Bee" very low sodium white Albacore tuna (in water) and this was a perfect lunch!
