Helpful hints

  • Use less cayenne pepper if you don't like the heat.
  • Instead of using root beer and cayenne, try one of these substitutions: 12 ounces ginger ale and 1/3 cup fresh chopped rosemary leaves; or 12 ounces Orange Crush® or Orange Sunkist® soda with 1 tablespoon ground basil; or 12 ounces lemon lime soda with 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro.
  • Root beer, ginger ale, orange soda and lemon lime soda generally do not have phosphorus additives. However, always check the ingredient list for phosphate additives.
