I have made this recipe 4 times. It is so good. I do put a squirt of lemon juice instead of the fruit protector and it enhanced the flavor. This gets better the longer it's in the fridge.

The fruit protector is ascorbic acid and citric acid. You can use citrus juice such as lemon or lime instead.
