Could you use canned salmon or tuna. Don't have access to crab? Dietitian comment: Yes--look for reduced or low-sodium brands.

my hubby cannot digest bell peppers; is there something else I can add? Dietitian comment: I suggest omitting the bell peppers[INVALID]no other changes needed since there are plenty other flavor ingredients in the recipe.

Add dill to the crab cakes mixture or make a sauce of mayo, dill, lemon juice, lemon pepper or ground pepper and paprika. Adjust seasonings according to taste and measure. You can also add a hot sauce in the sauce or in the crab cake mixture for a little bite to it. I also made sandwiches out these crab cakes with a sub roll and added to the sandwich lettuce and one slice of diced tomatoes. They are so good!!

Love crab and this recipe is easy since most of the ingredients I have on hand, yes even the crab. I save it for Sunday dinners.

This recipe is absolutely fantastic. I made it for my patients right before Christmas and got wonderful reviews. I served it as an appetizer for Christmas dinner and was extremely well-received. Highly recommended!
